Exult!

Rejoice, O heavenly powers! Sing choirs of angels!
Exult, all creation around God's throne!
Jesus Christ, our King is risen!
Sound the trumpet of salvation!
...
For Christ has ransomed us with his blood,
and paid for us the price of Adam's sin to our eternal Father!

This is our passover feast,
When Christ, the true Lamb, is slain,
whose blood consecrates the homes of all believers.
...
This is the night,
when Jesus Christ broke the chains of death
and rose triumphant from the grave.
...
May the Morning Star which never sets
find this flame still burning:
Christ, that Morning Star,
who came back from the dead,
and shed his peaceful light on all humanity,
your Son, who lives and reigns for ever and ever.

Amen.

Thanks for posting the Exsultet! I think it is one of the most profound parts of the vigil. I think it beats any lyrical creations of C.S. Lewis or J.R.R. Tolkien.
I hope you have a happy Easter, Jane. Know that you are deeply missed here and you come up in conversation often. I hope your ears are burning!

Jane! Very nice to see you post the Exsultet! You should have heard Julius sing it though... Fan-Friggen-Tastic! The Vigil was great here! I hope that you had a wonderful easter mass as well (which ever one you decided to attend). I'm glad to hear that all is going well with you, and that you are keeping busy down there (although some times that may not be a good thing...)

Have a happy Easter Jane, God bless
